Chancellor Philip Hammond announced recently that the minimum wage (and the living wage) will increase from April 2019.

Below you can check the current and future rates, but before let's see the difference between National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage:

The government uses both terms although practically there is only one difference. The National Living Wage is the minimum wage rate for those aged 25 and over. For younger workers, the same thing is called National Minimum Wage.

Furthermore, there is The Living Wage that shouldn’t be confused with the government’s National Living Wage. The Living Wage is not enforceable by law. It is a voluntary scheme and its rates are higher than the government's ones.
